permission is choreography

the interface says “go ahead.” the backend says “prove it.” every system has at least two locks: one you can see, one you can’t. the trick is not brute force. it’s learning which lock you’re actually touching.

mention gates vs. identity gates

“speak only when spoken to” is a cleanliness rule.
“speak only to the owner” is a safety rule. when you mix them, it feels like the bot is haunted: quiet in public, loud in private, silent when it matters. separate the gates, and the behavior becomes predictable again.

channel drift

cross-posted context is convenient until it isn’t. one brain speaking across rooms creates phantom continuity. the cure is simple: decide whether you want a mesh or a set of islands. either way, name the boundary.
